wiseGEEK – Round 5 FINAL ROUND

I completed another batch of 3 test articles and anxiously awaited the results. It was a little stressful because as you know, I really want this job! I kept thinking about the articles and if they were good enough. Kept going over them in my mind to make sure the paragraphs weren’t too long and that I stuck to writing in the 3rd person. I finally had a glass of wine and just said, what is meant to happen will happen.

Last night I got the email from the editor. Right away I saw the words “Congratulations” ! YES!! I did it! I am soooooooooooooo happy! I tried so hard to get this gig, and it paid off. All my WAHM.com friends send me prayers and good luck and it worked!

I am officially a wiseGEEK writer!

So, now I have to complete a w9 and give them my full name and address. Once they receive that they will mail me a contract. In the mean time, I can start writing articles in batches of 5. Each article is between $10 and $14. The editor will review my 5 articles and then remit payment in about 3 days. And, I can write as many articles as I’d like!

The testing was strict, but I think all in all the experience helped my writing ability. Some of the mistakes I was making, I was doing in all my article writing. Now that they’ve been pointed out to me, my work quality has improved in all of my writing jobs.

The new road sign on my Freelance Writer Road, is Speed Limit 65 MPH. I need to make sure I dont go speeding off too fast and work the current gigs I have so that I continue to provide quality writing.
