Don’t Throw Away Rejected Work! Tips on How To Make Money With Rejected Articles

Today, I have some tips on how to make money with rejected articles.

So, I’ve been very busy working CloudCrowd for daily pay… to get caught up on bills and get ready for the summer when I’ll have my older son home with me and my younger son.

One of the drawbacks with this company is that you do not get a chance to edit your work. It’s either accepted as is with a bonus, fixed up by the editor without bonus pay, or rejected and sent back into the queue for someone else to write.  Now, if you are writing the product descriptions, that isn’t too much of a big deal because they are quick 35-45 word descriptions that pay a little less than a dollar. But, if you are writing larger articles, it can be disheartening to see your time wasted. I’m going to tell you right away, don’t throw away rejected work.  Instead, make money with rejected articles!

I have been taking these rejected articles and putting them up on Suite101.com! I have to add more words as Suite101.com wants articles that are at least 400 words long and the CloudCrowd articles are only 275-315 words, but with my sources already provided, I can quickly open them and beef up the article. Then I find a picture on WikiCommons, and wah-lah! I have a new article on Suite101.com that will earn me residual income.

Now, I’ve only started trying to make money with rejected articles, so I have no indication yet as to how my income will be with these articles. My previous project to add 5 articles to Suite101.com a month fell to the wayside, so I’m going to use this strategy instead to increase my residual income with Suite101.com. (I have placed other rejected articles onto these sites, but only a few.  Right now I only earn a couple dollars a month in residual income. Not even enough to reach payout! So, my goal is to start making payout by the end of this year.)

This can work with other articles as well. For example, I wrote an article for Demand Studios and the editor wanted me to completely re-write it because my spin was not quite what they were looking for. This has happened to me about 3 times at DS. If the re-write is not worth my while, I will simply let it expire and post my article on Suite101 or Yahoo! Contributor Network.

Ultimately, I could end up earning more per article over time when I post it up at Suite101.com or Yahoo! Contributor Network because they will continue to earn money for as long as they are posted… each month’s pay adding up potentially adding up to much more than what I would have been paid from DS, CloudCrowd, or any other site that only pays up front.

Don’t throw away rejected work! Make money with rejected articles. If they were rejected for grammar errors, fix them. Make sure they are worthy to be placed online somewhere else and then post them at Suite101 or Yahoo! Contributor Network and start earning residual income. Don’t let your time be wasted.

For examples, here are links to my articles that were previously rejected:

Great advice! I am a firm believer in resubmitting rejected work. Just because one publisher won’t accept it doesn’t mean none of them will. As the old cliche goes “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!”

Thanks for this tip on submitting rejected articles to other websites. I would also add HubPages to the list of good sites to publish content. I am making more there per page view than on other sites, but I have not tried Suite101 yet.
